We Are Horses 4 Life
We are Carol and Chris and we are the proud owners of Horses4Life
Carol trained with the British Horse Society, attaining her BHS riding and stable management stages one, two and three qualifications. Carol has owned horses all her life and was a yard manager in a successful eventing yard for many years.
Carol looks after the day to day care of all the animals on the farm, she makes sure that all the horses are fed, groomed, mucked out and exercised each day. That the chickens, dogs and cats have fresh food and water each day.
She liaises with our team of experts to ensure our ponies have the best possible treatment:
- We have regular visits from our vets to ensure the ponies have their vaccinations on time and receive any treatment they may need.
- The farrier visits every six weeks to either trim the ponies feet or replace the metal shoes they wear.
- The equine dentist visits either every six or twelve months to give them regular dental checks so that their teeth do not develop any sharp edges.
The horses also have regular sports massages to help keep them relaxed and their muscles in tip-top condition.
Carol also deals with the delivery of the hay, bedding and horse feeds, she will happliy show you how to handle the animals and answer any questions you may have.
Despite changing her career to become a driving intructor in 1999 she has always had horses and after a long day teaching pupils to drive likes nothing more than spending time with her favourite animals
Chris has trained in many disciplines including hypnotherapy, EMDR and as an equine assisted therapist. Chris first became interested in hypnosis at a young age. Although trained as a bricklayer, Chris was previously running an animal rescue centre and also worked for a company helping to produce accredited medical training programmes for the professional development of doctors.Chris began his hypnotherapy training in February 2002. By September of that year, he received his first Diploma in Advanced Structured Hypnotherapy with a pass mark of over 96%.
Chris’s personal and professional interest in the well-being of individuals means that he regularly undertakes training and re-training to increase his skill set.
Chris has a private practice in Paignton, and was the founder of the Devon Clinic which has now set up as a charity providing talking therapies to a wide variety of clients ranging from survivors of domestic abuse through to single parents suffering with stress.
Chris also passes on his skills and knowledge through his training school, The Devon School of Hypnotherapy.
